Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is one of the top 5 cosmetic surgery. It is meant to address corrections on both eyelids (upper and/or lower), either for aesthetic or functional purposes. Patients suffering from sagging, drooping, misaligned or hooded eyelids would benefit from an eyelid procedure. Upper eyelid surgery

Lower eyelid surgery

This surgical procedure is meant to restore the normal position of the eyelid by surgically accessing and working on muscle, fat and skin tissues that tend to drop with time.

Recovery time

Stiches should be removed 5 days after the procedure. Bruising and swelling start to dissipate after a week and being relatively presentable within 2-4 weeks. Sunglasses are necessary to go outside. Contact lenses should not be worn for at least a week following the surgery. Limit strenuous activities for 3 weeks.

Possible complications after eyelid surgery

A temporary eversion (a turning down of the lower lid) may occur but should be back to normal quickly. Dr. Chartchai usually performs a tarsal suspension to prevent this complication from occurring. Some increased sensitivity to light, dryness or excessive tearing, blurred vision but these are only temporary.
